Swahali for 'A Place for the Children', Mahalia Pa Watoto is a school in Dagoretti, just outside Nairobi, Kenya. We aim to provide destitute children with comfort, guidance, protection, a foundation of Christian principles, and basic education in reading, writing and arithmetic.

The school was started in 2000 by Jane Thomas, a Kenyan teacher and social worker, who helped at the Red Cross feeding station and wanted to do more for the children. It started with a dozen pupils and has grown over the years. By 2013, more than 100 children had passed through its care, and there are now 80 to 90 pupils at the school in three year groups.

Mahali is a project of  'The Seed Sowing Network', a UK registered charity established to support school projects in Kenya. We have a vision of extending the support to as many children as possible.
